(1) PEAK Fund Management is a no load equity mutual fund strategy developed and managed by Horter Investment Management, LLC, a SEC Registered Investment Adviser. The strategy analyzes over 10,000 mutual funds for such information as expenses, 12B-1 fees, management tenure, historical rates of return, risk ratings (commonly known as "Beta"), and Morningstar rankings (an independent third party mutual fund ranking service). PEAK Fund Management is not a registered mutual fund as that term may be defined in the Investment Company Act of 1940. This material is intended to provide information about the current mutual funds that comprise the PEAK portfolio on the date indicated. At any time the mutual funds comprising the PEAK portfolio may change. This information is not intended to show how these mutual funds will in fact perform during any particular market conditions. Accounts with less than $25,000 may not hold all mutual funds that comprise the PEAK
portfolio but rather, because of certain fund minimum investment requirements, a reduced number of funds. Investors can lose money with these funds or any future funds added to the portfolio. This material is not intended to show the actual performance of the PEAK portfolio; such information is available by separate brochure entitled "Portfolio Profile" and at the PEAK website, www.peakfundmgt.com. Actual returns may be higher or lower. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Clients can lose money.
(2) Mutual funds are indicated using an abbreviated symbol to protect the proprietary mutual fund strategy employed by the manager of the PEAK portfolio. Actual symbols are available upon request.
(3) Rankings refers to the five-star mutual fund ranking system developed and used by Morningstar, Inc.
(4) Beta is a measure of a specific investment's volatility in relation to the overall market. Here, the volatility of each mutual fund in the current PEAK portfolio is compared to that of the S&P 500 (5), an index representing the 500 largest publicly-traded companies in the U.S. based on market capitalization. The Beta for the S&P 500 (5) is 1.0. A Beta lower than 1.0 implies less volatility (and generally less risk) than the S&P 500 (5), whereas a Beta greater than 1.0 implies more volatility (and generally more risk) than the S&P 500 (5). The PEAK Fund Management investment criteria generally seeks mutual funds with a Beta of approximately 1.1 to 1.2 for new assets. The Beta could be higher or lower after the assets are invested. The initial Beta for accounts of less than $25,000 could be higher or lower because of the reduced number of funds in such accounts.
(5) S&P 500 comparisons utilize Vanguard S&P 500 Mutual Fund.
